Experiencia de clase
Your artist will learn how to apply and blend acrylic paint. I will also sprinkle in art concepts such as: line, shape, color, pattern, space and texture. Lesson Format: Prerecorded videos No Prior Knowledge Required. Weekly Interactions: 1. Assignments will be posted every Wednesday by noon central time. Each art lesson will be prerecorded. 2. On Wednesdays, a Flipgrid question will be posted on our private artist community page. Students are required to post at least one 1 minute video response every week. Students may respond to the question of the week and/or comment on other students' art work. All video comments will take 24 hours to post to allow for teacher review. (If students are shy they may use a puppet or pet until they are comfortable.) On the first day of class, students will receive their username and a direct link. Art reflection and critiquing is a crucial part of the creative art process. 3. Should any questions arise, just post in the classroom. I will respond through text. 4. Projects are due Wednesdays (by noon central time) of the following week. Every child is encourage to post their finished art piece on Flipgrid.(Shy students may use a puppet or pet until they are comfortable.) Flipgrid will allow, both myself and their peers, to celebrating their success and highlight their artistic gifts through video comments. 5. There are NO live meetings. Hello and thank you for dropping in. My name is Mrs. H. and I’m excited to join your child’s education team. Whether you’re looking for a full art curriculum or extension on a traditional school program, you’ll find it here.
EDUCATION
I have a bachelor’s degree in Education. My certifications include:
Art (Early Childhood to 12th Grade)
English as a Second Language (Early Childhood to 12th Grade)
Reading, Writing and Social Studies (4th to 8th Grade)
TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
I’m a true believer that you should never stop learning. As a current TAEA (Texas Art Education Association) conference attendee, I keep up with art topics and digital concepts. This new information ensures that my students are always current and never bored.
EXPERIENCE
I have 14 years in the Texas public system under Conroe & Spring ISD. I’m proud to share that 11 years were in art, where I have created over 1,500 independent artists. I developed and delivered over 100+ lessons in various mediums such as: charcoal, oil pastel, chalk pastel, marker, color pencil, acrylic, watercolor, sculpture, and photography. My lessons are so successful that many art teachers purchase them under my Super Art Name, ARTy-saurus. Many of the lessons will include free ARTy-saurus’ PDF files.
PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy is to create an environment in which EVERY child despite language proficiency, experience, learning or physical disability and can be successful. Art is based on a motivational process and can be taught through modeling and hands-on activities.
1. With students being in their own personal space, they will take more artistic risks. My goal is to have students gain confidence and joy that can be transferred to other academic and social areas.
2. Upon sharing and analyzing art, students naturally learn character education such as appreciation, patience, tolerance, and understanding of others.
3. With each lesson, I will sprinkle art vocabulary (elements, principles, and skills). I do this so that the student understands the concept or technique being taught. Why is this important? So A, they can teach others and B they can apply this technique on their OWN. In the art community our goal it to share, model, teach and create independent Picassos.
