Are your children interested to learn coding with Scratch? Scratch 3.0 is good for kids to learn the basics of coding. It helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century. In this course, I will teach them how to create their own games, storyboards, and animations — and share their creations with others in the online community. Students will learn how to create games and storyboards by using Scratch 3.0. They will learn coding step-by-step by creating some interesting game projects. Each week, we would focus on learning new coding knowledge. Week1, 2 <Dec 7,14>: Project: Ping Pong Students will learn how to use the basic functions of scratch 3.0 to create their first game. Week3, 4 <Dec 21,28>: Project: Hungry Shark Students will learn how to send messages in between sprites. Week5, 6 <Jan 4, 11>: Project: Hungry Snake Students will learn how to clone objects and use loops Week7, 8 <Jan 18, 25>: Project: Color Doodle Students will learn how to draw a beautiful drawing by using scratch. After 8 weeks, they will have basic knowledge of coding. We will have an advanced Online ongoing class to continue. This is an online class, students need a computer with a keyboard to follow steps. If you have a tablet to attend the zoom class, that would be great. Students may use the computer to follow the steps at the same time. Students also need a Scratch account before the class is started. Please go to the below link to sign in to an account: https://scratch.mit.edu/ Since it is a leisure course, kids will enjoy learning without pressure. This class is for beginners, they don't need any coding experience to join. I am excited to see you in the class. Join us and Have fun!! My name Paul Yiu, I am an online teacher and mainly teaching Olympiad math, Coding (Scratch 3.0 and Python), and Abacus math. I have master's degrees in Computer Science and Information Services Management, a Brain Gym instructor, Play Therapist, Abacus, and Olympiad Math mentor, committed to providing after-class programs with group classes and 1:1 individual tutoring services for mainstream and SEN (special educational needs) students since 2013.
I am one of the supporters of Happy Learning. Most of my students would have more confidence after class. I would encourage students to look for answers by themself.
