This weekly drop-in class introduces students to the basics of coding through a fun, interactive Roblox game. Kids will learn how coding logic works by solving in-game puzzles, experimenting with coding concepts, and unlocking exciting gameplay features using their creativity and problem-solving skills. What topics will you cover? Foundations of Coding: Introduction to sequences, loops, and conditionals. Problem-Solving: Thinking critically to solve puzzles and navigate challenges in the game. Teamwork: Encouraging collaboration and communication with peers to complete tasks. Digital Literacy: Learning how to interact safely and respectfully in an online environment. How is your class structured? The class is designed as a one-time, 60-minute session divided into three main segments: Introduction (10 minutes): Welcoming students, explaining the game, and setting expectations. Gameplay & Learning (40 minutes): Kids dive into the Roblox game, guided by live coaching and support as they solve coding challenges. Wrap-Up (10 minutes): Sharing what they learned, celebrating achievements, and Q&A for additional guidance. How will you teach? This class is a mix of guided exploration and hands-on play. I’ll use live demonstrations to show students how to solve challenges, then encourage them to try on their own or with teammates. I’ll provide real-time tips and answer questions as we go, ensuring no one feels left behind. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is friendly, energetic, and encouraging. I believe in learning through play and will create a supportive space where kids feel confident trying new things and asking for help. I’ll also make time for laughter, celebration, and fun surprises to keep the energy high and the experience memorable! How much will learners get to interact with you? Learners will have constant access to me throughout the class. I’ll provide guidance during the gameplay, answer coding questions, and ensure everyone feels included. Students can communicate via chat or microphone, depending on their comfort level. I’ll also encourage group discussions, teamwork, and peer learning during the session. This class is not only about coding – it’s about building confidence, connecting with others, and having an amazing time in a safe, supervised virtual space

We understand that private servers are important for educators to help keep our Learners safe while enjoying their online gameplay, and that gamer tags may be necessary to join those private servers. Please be sure to keep the following in mind as well.
- Have learners or parents message gamer tags directly through a private message
- Never allow learners to share their gamer tags in the classroom page (this means deleting comments from learners that do)
- Private servers can only be open during class time. Educators found to have servers open to learners outside of class hours may be subject to immediate suspension.
