Is your middle schooler looking to strengthen their grammar skills or boost their writing confidence? This interactive grammar class is designed to help learners master essential grammar concepts in a way that’s both fun and effective! With a clear, step-by-step approach, students will explore topics such as sentence structure, punctuation, parts of speech, phrases, connotation and denotation, pronouns, verb tenses, and more. Each session focuses on a specific grammar concept, allowing learners to easily join at any time. Through engaging activities, collaborative discussions, and practical examples, your learner will build a strong foundation in grammar that supports their success in writing, reading, and communication. Class Outline: The entire curriculum is built on 44 lessons or 44 weeks of learning. Learners can join at any point and work through all 44 lessons, or stay for as long as their schedule allows. Interactive Grammar Notebook: Each week, learners will create a new page in their personalized interactive grammar notebook—an ideal tool for reviewing concepts and tracking progress. Teaching Approach: Each session, learners will work in their interactive grammar notebook, engage with a lesson in Google Slides or Nearpod, and wrap up with a fun game or activity to reinforce learning. Learners will actively participate in each part of the class and interact with their peers. Lessons will be structured around demonstrations, prompts, and individual practice to ensure sustained engagement and comprehension. Additional Resources: Each week, an optional practice sheet will be posted after class for learners to complete. This will help reinforce the concept being taught. Learners can send it to me, and I’ll be happy to review it and provide feedback. Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy aligns with Benjamin Franklin's wisdom: "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn." I believe that active participation and hands-on learning are key to mastering grammar concepts. Teacher Experience: As a current 6th-grade ELA teacher with 12 years of experience teaching grammar, I bring a wealth of knowledge to this area of learning. I understand the importance of personalized instruction and am skilled at adapting to the diverse needs of my students, adjusting the pace to ensure every learner’s success. Prerequisites: To excel in this course, students should have a strong understanding of grammar fundamentals acquired during their elementary school education. This foundation will ensure they are well-prepared for the more advanced concepts covered in Middle School Grammar. Give your child the tools they need to thrive in middle school and beyond. Enroll today and let’s make grammar exciting and rewarding!
