The Renaissance was an age of “re-birth”, characterized by a revival of classical literature, art and philosophy. In Renaissance series of classes, we will be reading works of literature from 1500 through 1700 and learning how to write different types of essays. This class will focus on the themes and literary devices of "The Prince" by Niccolo Machiavelli. The goal is for students to enhance their critical thinking and literary analysis skills while exploring significant themes and narratives. Students will also learn the basics of college essay writing through short essays assigned for homework and the final analytical essay.
