The assessments and/or worksheets provided are take-home reading assignments that the child may do with their parent or caregiver. They are practice sheets outside of the class. These sheets are not required to be sent back to me as they solely serve to enhance the learner experience once they have viewed the videos. There will be no grades in my classes as I follow the Montessori way of teaching where no grades are given. The learner may submit any worksheets back to me if they wish but it is not required.Experiencia de clase

Are you needing a reading class to help your child with their reading struggles? No problem it’s Cowboy Joe, me and friends to the rescue. In this self-paced class, learners will read along with me and my amazing AI avatar assistants for these delightful original short stories that I authored with beautiful illustrations.😀 This class is great for children with dyslexia, ESL, English language learners, and/or struggling readers as I have incorporated easy-to-read words and worksheets. I also follow the concept of Montessori in that any additional materials that I send have no grading system and are self-grading. The students may take their time watching the videos again while enjoying the entertaining life-like puppets, avatars, soft transitional music, and beautiful natural scenes. The age of the student will be no problem as long as the parent or caregiver feels that their child may benefit from the course. Any child of any age is welcome in my class. I made these stories to help my students who struggle with reading or are just learning to read. Each short story was authored by me. I find that many children's books are geared for the parent to read the book to the child. The short stories I made are for the children to read by themselves so they are very simple and easy to read and learn with the corresponding fun worksheets that I have provided for each story. 😀 Note: This is a Self-Paced class and not a live class. This class is meant for students who are just starting to read at the pre-primer and kindergarten levels or those children who are significantly behind in their reading at the 1st and 2nd-grade levels and need to go back to the basics. Following the very short story lesson, I will go over the decodable words that are in the story making this a great reading activity. The short stories progress by reading level. Each student will receive a link to the password-protected flipbook of all the stories with the decodable high-frequency word sheet which includes writing for some of the stories. 🦉 The student will see me or my avatar read a sentence & then I will pause and give time for the student to see the words and repeat. At the end of each reading and for added fun and interest, my avatars (with my voice) will read the short story slower & go over a few points that the short story discusses for the student to know reading comprehension and what the story was about. The short stories progress from very easy CVC levels to early 1st-grade levels. 🦉 The videos last from 20 to 30 minutes. I will include a PDF each week with high-frequency, decodable words and target correspondence sentences for each story. There are 4 videos that the student will receive with the corresponding PDF story. Read more in the syllabus area.🐰 Estimated completion time for all the classes is dependent on when the child views the videos and completes their worksheets (approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour per video and including the worksheets per short story). Dr. "Teacher Ruth" will be available as needed in the message area and she will engage with the learners weekly with posts and short video clips. She will respond to any questions within 24 hrs. Her avatars will also chime in with a friendly "hello"! Learners will be able to interact with Dr. Ruth and peers through the posts or message area if they wish to do so. The reading levels for the short story will be utilized and progress from pre-kindergarten: 0.1 - 0.9., 1st Grade: 1.0 - 1.9. The short stories were written by Teacher Ruth and are presented with diverse characters displayed. The illustrations were AI-generated - So cool! 🦄 See the descriptions in the Syllabus for details. 🔹In the last video we will view all the stories in a short beautiful video clip and say our parting words of good-bye. I can not wait to help all my students practice their reading skills with this amazing class that I created. RULES PRIOR TO ENROLLING IN OUTSCHOOL CLASSES: No refunds once the class starts.
