-This class is designed to encourage young readers to commit and follow through on finishing a book. Having accountability and others to come along side you in your journey is motivating. -Chapters will be read at home according to the weekly schedule: Week 1: Chapters 1-8 Week 2: Chapters 9-16 Week 3: Chapters 17-24 Each week the teacher will lead a time of discussion through a series of questions pertaining to the chapters that were assigned. We will cover the following criteria for EACH chapter: -questions to verify that assigned reading was done -questions for reading comprehension -questions for analysis/critical thinking skills -This class will meet (1) time a week for 45 minutes and for a total of (3) weeks. Carry on, Mr. Bowditch is a maritime biography that explores the life of Nathaniel Bowditch, his discoveries and accomplishments. Let’s start this reading journey together and finish it together! Metas de aprendizaje
-Students will commit to and finish a whole book: Carry on, Mr. Bowditch.
-Students will encourage each other through classroom interaction and by working as a team toward the end goal of finishing the book as a class.
-Students will understand the characters, plot, setting and overall theme of the book through class discussions.
-Students will be inspired to continue reading the series on their own.

Each student is required to purchase their own copy of the book Carry On, Mr. Bowditch. It can be used or new, printed or digital.

I am just as passionate about learning as I am about helping others love to learn and sharing my knowledge with them.
•I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Associate degree in Architectural Drafting. I also have a certification in TESOL, completed Psychology courses with Harvard Medical School, Child Nutrition courses with Stanford University, posses a variety of course certificates in early childhood education from the Child Care Education Institute, and am currently homeschool using the Classical Education approach.
Other than art and architecture, I have a passion for and/or experience in health and nutrition, translation and simultaneous interpretation, child care, reading, crafting and Christian ministry/theology.
•I have many years of teaching under my belt (over 17) and have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of ages from toddlers, to high school dropouts, and up through adults. I have had the opportunity to be a Lead Teacher and own a daycare center/preschool academy. This has formed a special place in my heart for early childhood education. I have taught a variety of workshops and classes in Spanish for couples, families and leaders at my church as well.
•The majority of my classes are inspired by needs and wants I have identified in my own family and community. So, I trust they will enrich the lives of your children too.
•My calm, kind and friendly personality is sure to appeal to a variety of students. I promise to always treat them with the respect and love they deserve.
