We will use recognizable images of the blocky Minecraft animals to focus on letter sounds, phonics, and word building with CVC word families. Each student will get a chance to speak and to sound out and read the CVC words with gentle guidance. They will enjoy learning to read the Minecraft animal names together and we will sing a special song. We will also play a fun game of memory at the end of class where the students will try to find a match. The younger students will love it! Students can bring a Minecraft-related plush toy, characters, or other toys to class, as they will each have a chance to show and tell at the beginning of class.

Students will improve their phonics skills through word-building, reading CVC words, singing songs, playing an interactive game, and talking about their favorite Minecraft animals! Good for both native English speakers and ESL learners.
