Comprensión lectora y escritura: tercer grado | cuarto grado | quinto grado

En esta clase continua de comprensión lectora y escritura, los estudiantes aprenden a comprender la lectura y a escribir para dominar su nivel de grado. En esta clase, los estudiantes tendrán un equilibrio entre la escritura y la lectura.

This class will cover everything third grade, fourth-grade, and fifth-grade, such as, Reading Comprehension and Writing. Our goal is to ensure that learning is fun and successful to every learner enrolled. In this  class, students will receive all the necessary tools to be successful in reading and writing. 

This class is also a great opportunity for homeschoolers or after schoolers to connect with other students and make friends, in a very positive environment. Upon enrolling into this class please ensure that your learner has completed second grade or is in second grade advance, this class is designed for those in intermediated elementary students.  Also, before enrolling into this class please note that this class does not building on itself!!!!!! 

This class will be taught by an experienced elementary school teachers. Because Cherry Learning Center is a homeschool learning institution and we take our learners learning very serious, you will receive progress reports. We love to have open community with our teachers and families. Please feel free to share any information about your learners, learning style to help us meet their needs. 

How are lessons taught: Lessons will be presented in a PowerPoint form and on Canva. 
What supplies are needed for class: Every week you will receive the PDF that will be used in class. Students will need a whiteboard, dry erase markers, notebook or paper, pencil, and a folder to keep their learning materials in. 

What will be covered in this class: 
We will read reading materials during our class visits. All reading materials will be on-grade level.
-Phonics
- Reading
-Vocabulary  
- Spelling (each week students will receive a new set of words)
- Writing
- Grammar and punctuation
- Literature
- Poetry 
 
At the beginning of each class students will be given the opportunity to share the journal topic which will be written in a journal. We will then move on into our reading topic of the day.

Week of 5/1: 
Reading: Identify and describe the main idea of a fiction book using the textual details 
Writing: The Writing Process and Unlocking the Prompt

Week of 5/8 
Reading: Identify and describe the main idea of a fiction book using the title 
Writing: 4 Square Writing Method 

Week of January 30th: 
Reading: Main Idea: How to choose the main idea. 
Writing: The Writing Process

Week of 5/15: 
Reading: Main Idea: Identify and describe the main idea of a nonfiction book using the title and illustrations
Writing: Unlock the Prompt

Week of 5/22: 
4 Square Writing Method

Week of 5/29: 
Reading: Understanding our materials 
Writing: How to use adjectives to help enhance our writing

Week of 6/5: Continuous of Week of July 11th 

Week of 6/12: 
Writing: Preposition and using it in our journal topic

Week of 6/19: 
Reading: Comprehension and understanding the Author's Point of View 
Writing: Review preposition and using conjunctions

Please note that we do not have class on major holidays.
