Experiencia de clase

Nivel de inglés - Pre-A1
Grado de EE. UU. 3 - 5
This 45 minute class will be taught focusing on one literacy skill for reading comprehension as well as practicing that skill with their writing. The reason reading and writing should be taught together is so that the reading comprehension skill is reinforced in their writing when students get a chance to practice that same reading skill right in the moment and become the author. In this class students will see that there are many reasons for writing and that writing has different criteria.

(you can join the class and leave the class at your convenience. Each class is a stand alone class so no need to attend all of the classes listed. Come and go as you please.)

Lesson Outline
*read a short passage together and discuss aloud (5 mins)
*use the organizer that addresses a common reading comprehension skill to guide our discussions (15 mins)
*use another organizer with this same skill and brainstorm ideas to practice the reading skill but as an AUTHOR. (10 mins)
*students complete the organizer with teacher guidance and discussion (10 mins)
*share out any final thoughts (5 mins)
*After class, students are encouraged to complete their writing when class has ended on draft paper.
*After class, students are also encouraged to read 20-30 minutes and practice the skill of the day from our lesson.
