Welcome to Reading Comprehension for 15 - 18 years old! Ready to dive into the world of literature and sharpen your writing skills?

Students can start this class at any time. No printouts are needed before class. Optional practice worksheets are provided after each class to reinforce each new skill taught and teacher/parent communication is important to us.

Reading comprehension skills are necessary for academic success. This class is designed for students needing to catch up, keep up, or get ahead with reading fluency and reading comprehension skills.

In this course, students will learn to use clues from their reading to better understand and retain what they read. Learners will practice reading aloud (fluency), learn new vocabulary (context clues practice), and learn and practice reading comprehension strategies such as the main idea, details, inference skills, character analysis, author's purpose, and more.
