This camp is for students who love to read. We will read a short story: "The Million Pound Bank Note" by Mark Twain. Students will do the reading assignments outside of the class, though we will read segments together during our discussions. In addition to reading assignments for home work, there are brief writing assignments and a creative final project. We will have brief lectures, group discussions and small group work. I incorporate plenty of time for students to talk, as I believe this helps them learn and retain information. The following is a rough breakdown of the four day camp schedule: Day 1 ~Ice-breaker/Introduce: plot elements, suspense, theme vs. topic, character development/Break out groups prior knowledge/Discuss homework for next day and the final project (One-pager).
