Lea como un ninja: carrera de obstáculos: patee, corra y salte mientras aprende palabras reconocibles a simple vista

In this one-time class, kindergarten and first grade students will practice reading a short adventure filled ninja story with action moves, then practice reading and spelling 20 Dolch sight words, and finish with an obstacle course.

First, students will warm up with some ninja drills such as kicks, punches and jumps. Each student will have a chance to show off their ninja moves, and can use common household items, like the character in the story, to use as ninja tools (teacher will show socks she uses as nunchakus).  The teacher will then explain that today we are going to read a fun and funny story while we search for sight words.  Next, the teacher will read the story, “Ninja” by Aree Chung, and point out sight words. Also, review and explain any difficult vocabulary such as territory, undetected, sacred, accomplished, dishonored, etc. The sight words in the story, along with others, will be used in the next activity.  Students will then review a list of 20 sight words with the teacher, and spell them. Finally, students will create a short obstacle course using household items (such as a pillow) to run, jump and race to the screen to read the sight word first! 
Expect your learner to be actively learning, they will be out of their seats at times, and may be punching, kicking and yelling during the class. This is a great class for students that are full of energy, reading, or have an interest in reading. Please have the computer positioned so that your child can be active safely!

Sight words will be based on students age, unless specified.
