1 hora por semana. Work on your independent target as you do your music practice.Experiencia de clase
How do you practice effectively? This class will cover theory and applied strategies for getting the most out of your music practice time. To begin, students will be asked to share what instruments they play and what their typical practice routines are like. The class will consist of combined lecture and discussion elements, covering the following topic areas: - How can we establish good habits? (both scheduling practice and making sure your practice is helping you to progress) - How can practicing slowly help us? - How is training "muscle memory" different from other kinds of memory? At the end of the class, students will be asked to set a target for themselves to improve their practice techniques or habits. No specific knowledge is required, but students should already play any instrument or sing regularly as we will draw on their experience of practice routines.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will reflect on their music practice routines, and use psychological knowledge to find ways to improve their practice routines.
