The purpose of this class is to teach students how to use the animation tools independently, or provide some tutoring on a personal project. More times than not, students leave class with a completed animation. However, some students may need more time outside of class to add details, color, etc. Students may also require additional tutoring in order to do things such as coloring, adding details, etc. I will offer students advice on what they could do to improve their animation, and what direction they should head in the future.

No. 

Q: What equipment do we need?
- iPad
- The “ProCreate” app
- Stylus/ Apple Pencil (Optional)

Q: I don’t have a stylus, can I still have class?
-Yes, you can use your fingers instead.

Q: How often should I take class?
-Students can take class once, or on a reoccurring basis.

Q: What one-time lessons do you offer?

1. Pro-Create Setup : lets download the app and adjust settings together

2. Pro-Create Basics : lets learn the ProCreate essentials so we can create by ourselves

3. Pro-Create Tools: let’s take an in-depth look at tools together 

4. Pro-Create 2D Animation Tools: let’s learn how to use 2D animation tools by ourselves 

Q: What are reoccurring classes like?
- re-occurring students use class time to work on their own creative projects under my guidance. I offer students design and technical support. Students are asked to share any new artwork made outside of class. I always inquire about my students goals, and encourage them to challenge themselves. 

Q: Can you help me with drawing?
-Yes. we can explore Cartoon, Chibi, Anime, Manga, Kawaii, Realism, and Isometric styles.

Q: Do You Offer Assignments/ Homework?
-No. Students who don’t need help with basics will work on projects of their choosing in class under my guidance.  I encourage students to set deadlines, and work outside of class when their schedule allows, but it is not something I enforce.

This class provides constructive “body doubling” to support neurodiverse learners such as those with ADHD, and/or Autism.

Hello, nice to meet you! My name is Miss Haley.  I earned a Bachelors Degree in Business at Full Sail University, and also a Film/TV, TESOL certificate. 
As a global ESL teacher who’s students speak several languages, since 2016 I’ve studied: Japanese through immersion, private tutoring, and self-teaching literature. I specialize in professional speaking, writing, and have volunteered with children in the past.

When a student is doing well, I give them praise.

Students will naturally prefer more praise, so they challenge themselves with mastering more difficult concepts. When a student is uncomfortable or stressed, they don’t try as hard.

When learning a language, you must exercise use your brain to think in that language. When the student knows they can easily be told the answer, it affects how much effort they put in. Students who don’t take the time to think, will have difficulty mastering further material, or will easily forget what they have just learned. Instead of telling your child the answer, I will walk them through the thinking/speaking process of a native speaker. Sometimes this means sounding out a sentence, or re-reading a short story. Doing so, will increase their response speed.

I like to teach my students to recognize patterns in the English language, and to ensure they can pronounce sounds more naturally. We may discus what is acceptable in formal and informal situations. This equips children with tools to pronounce new words independently, and to develop an English native’s view.
