Clases particulares: técnicas de estudio (dos veces por semana)

**IMPORTANT: The age range is not restricted; a student can be below 10 or above 16 years old**
This class is to request 1:1 tutoring sessions to help students with their study and test-taking skills. I will work on helping students build their confidence and understanding in good study habits. Each session will include teaching the study habit and then practicing it in a subject area that needs to be strengthen. We will work on study skills for memory retention and how to best prepare your brain for learning new information. Each week has two sessions and here is the weekly breakdown:

Week 1: Creating a study schedule 
Week 2: Adjusting to the study schedule
Week 3: KWL charts (Already Know, Want to learn, Learn)
Week 4: Flashcards tips and tricks
Week 5: Textbook reading
Week 6: Textbook reading
Week 7: Asking Questions 
Week 8: Be The Teacher

Additional weeks can be added to further study skills in test-taking; however that is only on request. These requests are welcome in learning test-taking statistics and strategies in order to prepare for any academia test. This can include practice for the GRE, ACT, and SAT or subject-based tests. These sessions can also be used for reviewing specific class material to prepare for tests in general or having a teaching partner to study with.

For subject-based tutoring, my strength is in English Literature due to my degree, while I'm also proficient in high school level Math, Science, and History subjects. Please note that I do not know another language but can help in finding studying techniques to help learn another language as I studied Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I also was a tutor while in college for English Learners and study habits. 
My teaching style is to find the student’s interest and include it in their learning to build confidence and rapport. I always encourage students to speak their thoughts and ideas as we learn together.
