These tutoring sessions are private one-on-one sessions to help your child practice his/her phonics/sounds, reading fluency and comprehension, language and/or auditory skills. If your child speaks English as a second language, I am TESOL certified and can help him/her practice learn English and practice correct pronunciation of English sounds/words. This class is not a one size fits all class, therefore specific details are not available at this time. Prior to the scheduled class time please answer the following question:

What skills would you like me to focus on with your learner in our sessions? If you register for this sessions more than 24 hours before the meeting time for the first class, you and I will discuss your learners needs/expectations. After our discussion and our first session, I will then design each class based on information you provided as well as observations I make concerning your child's needs. Each session a lesson customized for your child will be implemented to practice such topics as: identification (both written and auditory) and pronunciation of phonics sounds and/or reading skills and/or expressive/receptive language skills and/or auditory skills such as comprehension, memory, discrimination, etc. 

This class is NOT intended to be considered speech-language therapy. This is one on one tutoring to help your child practice areas they are struggling or need additional practice. You are encouraged to seek formal speech-language therapy for your child outside of this platform at your child's school or with a licensed speech-language pathologist at a clinic or in a private setting if this is a concern.

 Content of this class is based on learner(s) needs/goals and will be determined by parental concerns sent to the teacher 24+ hours prior to the first session and/or informal evaluation during the first session. Refer to the class description or goals section for list of possible topics. All sessions will include one or more brain fitness games to help improve retention of material covered in class.

This class is designed to support all learning styles and needs including those with ADHD / ADD, Dyslexia, ASD and others. We can work on areas needing improvement, practice and/or challenge.

Over the past 33+ years I have helped children and teens from ages 2 to 19 improve their speech, language, auditory, phonics, reading, and brain fitness skills and much more. I have a wide range of experience that includes teaching those on the autism spectrum, learning disabled students, add/adhd and many more areas of concern, as well as, experience teaching regular and gifted learners. I have found that patient encouragement in a structured and energetic yet relaxed classroom environment help students brains focus to receive information better and helps them become detail oriented students. I have spent many years enjoying my time working in both public and private schools and most recently in a Wellness Center providing brain fitness training. I also hold a TESOL certificate and teach English as a Second Language (ESL) online. During 15 of those years, I loved also homeschooling my own children (most grades K2-12) until they graduated high school. During our homeschool years, I helped teach a variety of classes to homeschool students of all ages who were involved in co-ops. I have both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and received a Class A (Master's level) teaching certification N-12. I am also an Interactive Metronome Certified Provider (IMCP). Interactive Metronome (IM) is a computer based brain fitness training program.
