This is an ongoing class. 

In this class, your child will be practicing mathematics skills such as: number, shape and space, times tables, word problems, algebra and angles - and each lesson is  centered around a specific goal. 

Tuition is a great option and can be very helpful if: 
* A class teacher has raised an area of improvement that your child needs to work on. 
* Your child would like more practice / extra help or extension work.
* There are some areas of learning that they missed out on perhaps switching schools or moving to a new place. 
* Your child would like to spend more time on a specific area.

Note: If a learner is more than 10 minutes late, it will be considered a missed class as per Outschool policy and the class is not eligible for a refund. If your leaner needs to cancel class, I can reschedule for a make-up meeting. 

If the cancellation is more than 24 hours in advance, I can also issue a refund. In general, students are allowed to cancel / reschedule 1 lesson every 8 weeks (with 24 hours notice). Exceptions may be made in an emergency. If I, as your learner's teacher has a scheduling conflict, I will either contact you to reschedule for a different time or if a time doesn't work for you, issue a refund. I respect your time and the learner's scheduled time either side and this helps lessons to run smoothly. 


About me,  I am a very experienced teacher with UK, US and international school experience. I am very good at what I do so I can adapt to what your child needs. I teach in a fun style as I would in the classroom so that your child feels comfortable and enjoys their lesson. I am looking forward to helping your child reach their goals.

Mathematics is an essential skill to have in their academic toolkit and it helps with all areas of the curriculum and daily life. 

There is also the opportunity for home work and asynchronous learning in the Outschool classroom related to the lesson.

There will be times that I will send links to useful videos. In order to access some of the resources you will need to have access to Youtube. You will not need to have a Youtube account and the links will be sent through the. Outschool platform. Children will need to be supervised when watching Youtube videos, YouTube’s Terms of Service You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service; however, children of all ages may use the Service and YouTube Kids (where available) if enabled by a parent or legal guardian. Permission by Parent or Guardian If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian’s permission to use the Service. Please have them read this Agreement with you. Nearpod From time to time, optional NearPod activities will be provide for self-paced completion outside of class. What is NearPod? NearPod is an app approved by Outschool. It can be be accessed with a code and link provided by the teacher. Nearpod is free with an account that parents / guardians will need to set up. Games will be interactive for the learner, support from the parent might be needed at first until learners get used to it but parents / guardians are always encouraged to check activities to ensure they are appropriate for their family’s needs. If NearPod is used during a live class, then the teacher will give notice of this in the classroom. There will also be occasional, optional assessments will be available in NearPod. Solve me math puzzles This website offers engaging and interactive math puzzles and challenges that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills. SplashLearn - SplashLearn is an interactive educational platform offering engaging math lessons and games for elementary school students, utilizing adaptive learning technology to personalize content and foster a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. Top Mark Maths Topmarks is an online resource for parents, offering a wide range of educational games and activities designed to support children's learning across various subjects. I will also link math with real life situations American Museum of Natural History - The American Museum of Natural History in NYC is a leading institution that explores and presents the wonders of the natural world through exhibits and educational programs. Nat Geo Kids - An educational platform for young learner to explore and learn about the world through content and interactive experiences. World Wildlife Fund - The World Wide Fund for Nature, offers information, resources, and opportunities for individuals to engage in global conservation efforts. National Park Service - This website provides comprehensive information about the diverse and breathtaking national parks in the United States, offering resources for visitors, educational materials, and updates on conservation initiatives.

Children will need a pencil and paper or a mini whiteboard and pen. Squared paper is great but plain is fine. 

It is very useful if learners are able to use basic Zoom tools such as the pen tool or the typing tool. By working through math problems in real time, helps to reinforce the process.

I am an experienced classroom primary / elementary school teacher and head of year. I have taught in London, North Africa and the Middle East and am now based in the U.S.  With many years of experience and enjoy helping children progress in their academic journey. I pride myself on ensuring that the materials are educational and engaging and that children leave the lesson knowing more than they started. Progressing and moving forward with confidence.
