Each session will be individualized to fit the learners needs.  Academic subjects can include reading, math, science and language arts.  Prior to the first meeting, parents and I will prioritize their child's need so I can gather appropriate learning tools to make the most of class time.  I like to work along side the student, finding out where the misunderstanding is and then presenting the concept in an easy to understand way so your child begins to build confidence and understanding of the concept.   For example, in math we can learn how to understand multiplication from a logic standpoint, instead of memorization.  In reading, we can strengthen vocabulary skills to understand text better.  In science, understanding the scientific method will help your child understand how to make changes to experiments in order to understand the how and why of the physical world.  Finally, in language arts, I can help your child strengthen their spelling, punctuation and syntax skills to become a better writer.  

My teaching style is collaborative with the student - they share what is stopping them from understanding a concept and I provide an easy to understand solution.
