Welcome to music lessons! I look forward to supporting your learning goals on Clarinet, Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, or Saxophone. Students will work on proper instrument playing technique, music reading skills, improvisation, and expression. Topics covered in lessons will included: -fundamentals of proper playing technique including articulation, hand position, breathing, and proper embouchure -etudes to improve technical skill with a focus on note reading fluency and rhythmic accuracy -solos for learning to make music expressive and supporting the instruct areas of students musical tastes As a teacher I work to determine students needs and adjust lessons to meet those needs. I believe that each student is an individual learner with different interests and goals. One of the things I love most about teaching one on one is that it allows me to best support these individual needs and goals. Each week we will go over warm-ups focusing on improving the fundaments of playing. Etudes suited to student goals that support increasing technical proficiency. As well as solo repertoire that fits your interests. You will be given music assignments to work on between lessons. I look forward to helping you meet your musical goals!

I teach classes in music and student success. I hold a doctorate of music in bassoon performance. As a professional musician, I play in orchestras, chamber ensembles and teach music both privately and in schools. I have experience teaching students from preschool to the university level.
I believe in providing students with the tools and information they need for excellence. I want students to have the skills they need to become their own teachers.
