This weekly, private tutoring session will be customized to your child's needs. Lessons will be guided by the learner's current math curriculum and homework challenges.

Each session will begin with a spiral review of your child solving math problems based on previous lessons. Your child will then receive help with their own homework and/or concepts that they are working on in their current math class. If your child has an upcoming quiz or test, we can also use this time to prep together. If there is additional time, I will introduce new concepts to your child so they have a preview of their upcoming lessons. After each session, I will email you, the parent, with a brief narrative of the skills/concepts we worked on that day.

This will be an interactive tutoring session with both your child and me writing on the shared whiteboard, working through given problems, and continually talking through the process of problem solving.

Before our first class, I will email you, the parent, to request your learning goals for your child, what book your child is using for math class, and if you'd like me to assign weekly homework. I can also create lessons around math concepts you already know that your child needs to focus on.

All children can succeed in math. I teach my students to value and learn from their mistakes, to persevere through problems, and to cultivate a growth mindset where they have confidence that their abilities can be changed through practice and hard work:-)
