This is an ongoing class (private 1:1 tutoring session) where your child will work with an experienced certified teacher for extra help in reading. Since these are tutoring sessions, I am offering a couple of options for this class. 

Option 1 ~ 
When you enroll your student, you may let me know where they are struggling (ex. reading comprehension or letter sounds) and I will spend our time together working on these specific strategies.  You can enroll your child for 1 session per week (or two) until they have mastered the content. 

Option 2 ~ 
I taught Kindergarten in public schools for 12 years. I've also been tutoring students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. I've worked for 2 years in a homeschool co-op where I taught a full Kindergarten and 1st grade curriculum. If you find that you are struggling to teach certain reading skills to your child, I would love to help!

Here are some of the areas where students typically struggle in Reading (K-2):
* print concepts
* letter and sound recognition
* sight words
* reading fluency (we will read short stories together)
* story elements (characters, setting, problem, solution, main idea & key details)
* comprehension (this can include writing in response to reading which I can help with as well)
* phonemic awareness (I will follow a phonics scope and sequence)
* vocabulary
