Hi there! I am so excited to be here on Outschool with you! I am super passionate about teaching and learning. I love to learn more than any of my other hobbies (and I have a few...), so for me, teaching is like sharing my most exciting activity with others. Because I love it so much, I bring all that excitement and enthusiasm into every class I teach and do my best to help each student develop their excitement for learning as well.

I have taught in both formal and informal classroom settings all over the world for many years. I also develop curriculum for local companies and families, homeschool my own 4 kids, and teach English as a Second Language online to students around the globe. I love to teach English as a Second Language, English Language Arts, writing, elementary math, art (including theraputic art), and practical life skills such as cooking, baking, sewing, foraging, animal husbandry, gardening, knitting, organization, etc. 

I have also spent many years teaching and tutoring kids who learn differently and am trained in dyslexia remediation (Orton-Gillingham), processing skills development methods, reflex integration, and other cognitive therapies. I believe that kids can learn and be successful if they are given the opportunity and the resources to do so, and it is my goal to make learning as accessible as possible so that my students can fully engage in the discovery process and come to love learning as much as I do.

I live on forested acreage on a lake with my husband and kids. We garden and raise animals, so many of the things I teach are either skills that we use in our everyday life or are things that I teach my kids during our homeschooling hours. Of all the animals we own, goats are my favorite by far!
