Welcome to my ESL classroom! I'm Medi and I am so excited you're here to learn English with me! I welcome all English language learners- whether your child is an advanced English speaker or just starting out as a beginner... this is the class for you! In this class, students will practice their English language skills with an experienced and certified online English teacher. I have over 3 years of experience teaching English online to students around the world and have completed over 5,000 classes through the VIPKid ESL platform with over 3,500 five star reviews from parents! In this private tutoring class, students will develop confidence while improving their speaking, reading, writing and conversational ESL skills. The class will run in an upbeat and hands on format, constantly using TPR (total physical response) in order for your child to grasp and understand new English vocabulary. This class will be very interactive and customized based on your child's needs. If parents have a request for something specific to work on, I can accommodate that, as well as just using this time for conversational practice if the student desires it! Otherwise, we will follow a customized ESL curriculum based on your student's English and ability levels. I will be using the Crystal Clear ESL program, which is aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). I place an emphasis on conversation skills so class will always begin and end with an opportunity for your student to just talk in a relaxed environment. I have a patient, positive and encouraging teaching style and I always aim to build your child's confidence in every single class! Although this is a one-time class in nature, we can easily set up a weekly class schedule to benefit your child! Hello, and welcome to my online learning space! My name is Medi and I am a licensed Special Education teacher with an absolute love of teaching! I am certified in teaching both mild/moderate and moderate/intensive levels of need within the special education classroom, and as an Intervention Specialist in General Elementary Curriculum. This means that I am able and dedicated to tailoring any lesson to fit the needs of my students! I also have experience teaching online ESL classes for the past eight years. I am extremely passionate about fostering confidence and a positive mindset in learners of ALL abilities.
I received my PHD in Education at Washington university. I have taught a diverse group of students with unique levels of need. I created my own curriculum and materials- which has allowed me to grow in such creative capacities! My teaching experience thus far has taught me the value of patience, passion and encouragement within any classroom.
While my first three years of teaching have certainly been the most influential on my career, I am fortunate to have also had some invaluable experience also as an online English teacher to children across the globe. Through this, I have learned to use time management skills effectively, create my own online positive reinforcement system and provide customized instruction through an online platform.
