Welcome to my class everyone!

This one to one tutoring is designed to help all students develop a love of math and begin to feel confident in their abilities.  It will include a mixture of games, learning, practice and puzzles starting from where your child is at.  

Every lesson will begin with a recap of the learning from the previous week.  There will be a warm-up activity to get us started followed by concentrating on one area in particular your child is needing more support with.  Every session will end with a quick game to finish off on a positive note.  The session will include slides, games, puzzles and discussions with me.  It will include a chance to interact on the screen and paper and pencil can also be used if preferred.

Some of the areas we can cover will be:
Times tables
The four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) 
Fractions
Decimals
Percentages
Shape
Measure
And lots, lots more.

The first session will be a time where I can get to know your child and see which topics they might struggle with or just need a bit more help with.  Each session will cover at least 2-3 of the different topics through a quick recap, more intense learning time and some consolidation.  I would plan your lessons weekly so that we can move at the pace your child needs and make sure they are secure in their understanding before moving on.  They might also request something they are struggling with at school or need some extra support with their homework.

My aim is to fit as much math into a small time frame with short, snappy tasks that will be fun and provide a challenge - therefore, leaving your child with a real sense of achievement.

We can meet 1-2 times per week depending on your schedule.
