Spend time in the Mesozoic Era in the Time of Dinosaurs. Meet Dinosaurs from the three Periods - Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous. Learn about Earth during each of these periods. Explore the dinosaurs, how they lived, what they ate. We will also learn about Fossils and how they teach us about dinosaurs. See real fossils, including dinosaur bones! Children should bring some of their favorite dinosaurs to class to share with their classmates. We will learn about dinosaurs using pictures, diagrams, models, and videos. We will see a short movie made just for the class every day. We will also make a dinosaur-themed project every day. We will get to see REAL Fossils of Cretaceous Dinosaurs of North America. I encourage children to participate fully in my classes. Classes are designed for the age group. I keep all of my classes small, so everyone has a chance to share and ask questions. Our camp schedule will be: Day 1: Dinosaurs, Fossils, and the Mesozoic Era / We will make dinosaur puppets Day 2: Dinosaurs of the Jurassic Period / We will make a Design-A-Dinosaur Day 3: Dinosaurs of the Cretaceous Period / We will make a Diorama Home for our Dinosaurs Materials for this class: Day 1: Dinosaur Puppet Printouts, safety scissors, tape, glue, markers or crayons, popsicle sticks Day 2: 2 empty toilet paper tubes, 2 copies of the Dinosaur Parts Template Printout, extra paper in any colors, safety scissors, tape, glue, crayons or markers Day 3: 2-3 sheets each Brown and Green Construction Paper, safety scissors, glue, tape, and a piece of cardboard 8 X 8 inches or larger. (You can cut a piece of cardboard out of a box or use a piece of poster board or foam board.) Optional - pipe cleaners or popsicle sticks or disposable straws. We will be using scissors during some of our projects and an adult should be available to assist. Projects start 20 minutes into the class. The first part of class will be filled with discussion, show and tell, and learning that children should be able to do on their own.
