We will explore the origins and structure of our home planet, Earth. Earth is the only planet we know that has life on it. It is a unique, special place. We will learn about the Four Spheres of the Earth - the Geosphere, the Atmosphere, the Hydrosphere, and the Biosphere in this introductory Earth Science course. We will learn about the Earth using pictures, models, and videos. We will also complete a project at the end of each class. Our curriculum will be: Day 1: Introduction to Earth Science and Earth's History / We will make a Spheres of the Earth Booklet Day 2: The Geosphere - Earth's Structure and Composition / We will make a Layers of Earth model Day 3: The Atmosphere - Earth's Air / We will make a model of the layers of the atmosphere Day 4: The Hydrosphere - Earth's Water / We will make a "cloud" rain in a jar Day 5: The Biosphere - Life on Earth / We will make a Biosphere Diorama This class is part of the Primus Science (TM) Complete Science Course Curriculum. You will need the following materials for the projects: Day 1: Spheres of the Earth Printouts from the Class Page, clear tape, safety scissors, your choice of coloring supplies - crayons, colored pencils, markers, pastels, etc. Day 2: Four colors of playdough Day 3: 1 jar or clear glass, 1/4 cup of each of the following: corn syrup or honey, dish soap. water, cooking oil Day 4: 2 small cups, water to fill one of the cups, 1 paper towel Day 5: 1 piece of cardboard at least 8 X 8 inches, construction paper - blue, brown, green plus other colors like pink, purple, yellow, black, etc. , safety scissors, glue, tape If you have a child with special needs, please contact me prior to the start of class so we can discuss any needed accommodations.

Licenciatura en Sociología desde Minors: Biology, Chemistry, and Writing
Annette the Teacher has been teaching for a very long time. She has over three decades of experience teaching children of all ages. She has a B.A. in Sociology with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. She has homeschooled her own children from Pre-School through (their current) High School. All of her classes are interactive. Annette encourages students to fully participate in class. All of her classes feature hands-on activities and books Annette writes for the class herself.
Annette is a published writer, publisher, and artist. She uses her extensive knowledge and experience to create unique classes for every student. She enjoys teaching science, history, art, and cooking classes. She brings history alive with her "Life in ..." history classes where students learn about key times in history by experiencing children and families' lives in that time period. "Paint like ..." art classes where students will learn about famous artists and create their own artwork based on the artists' works. "Smart Science" classes where we explore science and complete experiments and projects. Kid Cuisine classes are cooking classes for Young Chefs based on historic foods and science topics. Students should be prepared to make, explore, and create during class. Annette knows hands-on, interactive experiences are the best way for children to learn.
Annette spent the first nine years of her professional life working in the medical field. She worked as a Transplant Coordinator, retrieving organs for transplantation, and she worked in research. When she was five years old she got her first microscope (which she still has). She also became obsessed with the brain at the age of five. She made her own model of the brain, which she also still has to this day.
Annette also has experience working with Special Needs children. She is Mom to a child on the autism spectrum and a child with serious medical needs. She also has worked with children with ADHD. If your child has special needs, please contact Annette so she can work with you and your child.Reseñas
