Fiesta de arte para mostrar y contar en edad preescolar: ¡comparte y crea! (Diversión social semanal, de 3 a 5 años)

1 hora por semana. Because this is a weekly class where we show off our artwork to others, participants will need to create a piece of art between classes. It can be anything from a sketch to a LEGO build, from a coloring page to a mixed media sculpture! Any art will do, so long as they are proud of it.Experiencia de clase

Join us for a fun and interactive weekly, ongoing art party where we celebrate individual creativity and artistic expression! In the first half of the class, each student will have an opportunity to share something with the group (a piece of art, a stuffed animal, or whatever inspires them) and then answer audience questions. This part of class gives learners the opportunity to be social with their classmates and get to know one another as people and as creators. It focuses on the skills of public speaking and presentation, active listening, turn-taking, encouragement, and appreciation. In the second half, we will embark on a creative journey together by engaging in art-making activities. We will focus on process over product, and explore different art techniques. Each week, I will suggest a technique for making process art that involves both drawing and coloring. WEEKLY TOPICS AND MATERIALS Because of the nature of both "show and tell" and process art, there are no predetermined weekly session topics. The first half of our classes will always be learner-directed, and the second half will be process focused. Each piece of art created will be unique! The supplies and materials that are required from week to week will not change. The minimum requirements are at least 2 pieces of paper, something to draw with, and something to color with. We will play with lines, shapes, space, color, and shading. Get ready for an exciting art-filled adventure!

If your learner is new to Outschool and Zoom, please be in the room or available to help student with mute/unmute buttons if needed. If you and your learner have chosen to use any art materials that are messy (like paints), I strongly encourage caregivers to be present to assist with potential spills and cleanliness. Otherwise, minimal parental guidance should be needed.

I employ a Montessori approach to art. This philosophy encourages freedom, within limits. Allowing elementary students to express their ingenuity through art creation and sharing builds several important skill sets, including, but not limited to visualization, turn-taking, patience, curiosity, and empathy.
When exposed to different art activities students are likely to find the art domain they enjoy, creating endless future opportunities for healthy expression of emotion and imagination. When children find the right art experience for them, they become independent and focused as they actively choose to practice these skills. When elementary students work independently on art, they also intuitively self regulate their own stress and can even reach creative flow states! Practicing emotional regulation and flow-state focus through art is important for everyone, but it can be especially helpful for kids who are neurodivergent and/or navigating complex emotional situations.
I bring a lifelong passion for art and several years of experience running this class independently. I've witnessed art's positive impact on children of all ages and walks of life. My expertise lies in fostering confidence, facilitating sharing, and guiding collaborative art-making activities. Let me share my knowledge and enthusiasm for art with your learner!
