Grado de EE. UU. Preschool - Kindergarten
Nivel Beginner
In our ongoing preschool class, each day we will begin with calendar time. Singing our days of the weeks, months of the year, and counting to add dates on to our calendar for the month. Skills in our calendar time will be guided by the Saxon Math curriculum for Kindergarten. We will build our skills to prepare us for Kindergarten. Throughout our ongoing class, students will learn ALL of the standards taught in preschool (Pre-K).

Our calendar skills will include:
counting, shapes, colors, patterns, numbers recognition, number order, months of the year, days of the week, seasons, and weather.
Our Kindergarten preparation skills will come after our calendar time. We will work on mini lessons to support our Kindergarten readiness and work on one task at a time.

Phonic Skills will include:
Letter recognition, letter sounds, print concepts (top to bottom/ left to right, spaces between words, letters of the alphabet, and animal letter crafts for each letter), phonological awareness (rhyming, beginning/medial/ final sounds, sound manipulation, and syllables) , phonics (letter sounds, sight words, decode and write one syllable words), and fluency (reading emergent reader text with fluency and tracking).
⭐️This class is not an ESL class. It will support beginning language development, vocabulary acquisition, and general welcome conversation. Skills are focused on academic developmental skills and standards needing to be proficient for Kindergarten. ⭐️

Each class will follow a general pattern for welcome, calendar time, and literacy preparation skill mini lesson, and goodbye. We will be able to work on skills throughout the week, but each class will have a stand alone focus. I love to utilize open conversation and responses during class and students are welcome to stay off of mute (as long as there isn't an excess amount of noise disturbance). I strive to use mute only to help with background noise. Classroom management techniques are used to keep class engaging, respectful, and a kind -uplifting place.

Students are able to come and go within the semester as long as their is an opening for enrollment. Resources for the week will be sent out in advanced if there is a printing need for resources.

Refund Policy:
I am happy to give a $8 partial credit back for enrolling after a class meeting in the week for each day your learner did not attend class, upon request. A $3 credit will be kept for classroom materials and the recordings. You will receive all classroom materials for the week and recordings once we meet to verify learners. If you have any questions about this, please send me a personal message through Outschool.

⭐️Important information about class⭐️

Weekly printouts are sent out the Friday before the week. We complete these pages during class. Additional materials are also noted for the week, for you to prepare or bring to class. However, you can always use a whiteboard or white paper at home if you are unable to print the pages. Crayons, markers, scissors, and pencils are great to have on hand during class time.

During calendar, we also highlight holidays. We have holidays pointed out during calendar time. I strive to be inclusive to all types of holidays and celebrations. We create thematic projects during review weeks close to major holidays. We also will sing to students on their birthdays.

Classroom volume is monitored during class by encouraging our friends to raise their hands. I also strive to keep all our friends off of mute during class, but I will mute students when needed to minimize background noise during class.
Metas de aprendizaje
For my standards based approach in calendar time, I will be supporting the Saxon Math Kindergarten Morning Meeting Curriculum expectations. For our literacy preparatory content, I will be following the foundation skills check list and reading standards for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten.

I’m a compassionate and charismatic teacher who loves to teach! I have taught public school children in Kindergarten through 5th grade students for the last 10 years. In that time, I have been a general education teacher in the public schools and as a reading specialists for two of those years.
I have been teaching online since February 2020. I’m certified to teach Elementary education from Kindergarten to 6th grade. I absolutely love teaching the littles ones. I taught Kindergarten for a year and supported their instruction practices for two years as a reading coach. I know how to help prepare learners for success in their academic careers.
The first time in the classroom can be scary and daunting. I want to ensure that our classroom is an encouraging, fun, supportive, and safe place to learn and grow. I’m looking forward to sharing this fun class with your wonderful student and help them prepare for Kindergarten!
