WHAT MAKES MY CLASS DIFFERENT? *Creative Activities are provided for students-We do NOT do the same worksheets just a different number, letter, shape or color each week!!! Students are learning multiple concepts and skills in my class!!! *Variety of Activities are provided for students means your child stays ENGAGED! *Curriculum using gross motor, fine motor, music, art, STEM and pre-reading activities *I have loads of experience with this age including online and classroom experience. (See Professional Experience Below) *Snacks Made Together- works on following step by step directions *Show and Tell- Students learn how to ask questions, listen and speak clearly *All students receive time and individual attention during EVERY class from the teacher as I keep class sizes small. 📋CLASS SCHEDULE: 1. 🗓CALENDAR TIME- Every class Includes: Months of the year, days of the week, holidays, patterns, weather, letters, shape, color and number focus and so much more! *We discuss what the weather is like where I live and where they live. We sometimes even dress bear together for the weather! * 🔤🔺️🎨🔢 Each week with have a different letter, shape, color and number focus. We talk about each and sometimes go on a scavenger hunt for the items during calendar time. (Each of these areas provides a set routine for the students and once they are in class for a short period, they will begin to get the hang of it! This provides stability and children thrive in routines, just like adults do!) 2. THEME TIME-each week is a different theme! We will do activities related to the theme each day! Day 1- LITERACY ACTIVITY-Introduce letter(s) and sounds, read aloud a book related to the theme and talk about it Day 2- MATH ACTIVITY- Talk about the number of the week, count and other math concepts Day 3- SHAPE AND CRAFT ACTIVITY-Talk about the shape of the week and do a craft related to the theme *students may need parent help with the craft Day 4- COLOR/ SCIENCE ACTIVITY OR EXPERIMENT- practice fine motor skills coloring in the lines and following directions, watch a themed based experiment students can try later with parent help/supervision. Day 5- SNACK RECIPE SEQUENCE/ SHARE TIME-Students can bring an object to share and they will practice speaking and listening skills (OBJECTS RELATED TO THE THEME ARE ENCOURAGED!) We prepare a snack together learning how to follow step by step directions. ***Each of these activities enhance the children's learning of the letter, number, shape, and color of the week. These activities include art, gross motor, fine motor, music, pre-reading, and STEM activities. ** If your child is ready for more advanced skills and they know all the letters and most of their sounds as well as numbers 1-20, I suggest taking my advanced class 5x a week class. In that class, we will do reading readiness skills such as phonics blending, practice sight words, etc. We will also do more advanced math skills such as skip counting, comparing numbers, etc. This course will focus more on print awareness as well as identifying letter names and sounds. It is my passion and I believe it is crucial that we prepare little ones for an amazing and bright future!!! -I have a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and have BOTH music and elementary education certificates! -I have taught in the classroom and online for many years! -I have had my OWN child care center in my home working with young children -I have experience CREATING a curriculum on my own that fits the needs of this age group -I have excellent class management skills and pride myself in my ability to provide engaging, creative, fun lessons! -I have a special needs child and have found ways to adapt to him and other children's needs. -I have taught ESL students online and in the classroom and can continue to help them with their English speaking abilities. -I pride myself in my ability to reach students individually at their level! Each child needs something different and I don't believe in putting children in a "box." 🎒SUPPLIES: -Handouts for the week- Please print these and have them ready for class! They will be provided on the Sunday each week -Have on hand- pencil, paper, scissors, crayons, markers, and glue. ***ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES will also be posted Sunday with the handouts. *The science materials are optional if you'd like to have your child participate along side me and will be indicated as such. Snack supplies and sometimes additional art supplies may be necessary and will be listed when necessary for that particular week. IF THERE ARE ANY SUPPLIES YOU DON'T HAVE, THERE ARE WAYS TO ADAPT AND MAKE IT WORK. I PROVIDE THIS LIST AS I BELIEVE STUDENTS WILL GET MORE OUT OF THE CLASS IF THEY HAVE THESE SUPPLIES, BUT EITHER WAY, THEY WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME IN CLASS! 👨👩👧PARENTAL GUIDANCE: -Please print out handouts ahead of time -Please assist your child with the mute/unmute button throughout this class. -I ask that children be on camera throughout the class as possible. -Please assist your child with cutting and scissors during class time. *You may want to pre-cut materials due to creative lesson planning, sometimes there is quite a bit of cutting in order to reduce other outside materials needed for activities.
