In this one-time class, students will learn about five extinct dinosaurs that were both extraordinary but sometime terrifying. How big was Brachiosaurus? How thick was a Pachycephalosaurus skull? Find out these answers and many more in this fun and engaging class.

Since the class, is focus on letting kids explore their curiosity and love of prehistorical animals, students will be encouraged to share their knowledge and to ask lots of questions to discover new revelations about these amazing creatures. I believe students learn best when having fun in a supportive environment that encourages them to express their thoughts and opinions.

The class will be done as a multimedia presentation and will introduce students to these five astonishing creatures. At the end, we will talk about what the students have learned and which prehistorical animals they liked the most.

Students are welcome to bring their favorite stuffed animals, photos, or animal toys to share with the class. Snacks are welcome too.

We will be talking about large Prehistoric predators’ animals in this class. We will cover topics like what they ate, how they hunted, killed, and how large they got. This could include images or short clips of animals attacking other animals with the goal to kill them, while I will not display any gruesome images, the content could possibly be scary to some children.

I do use video clips from Youtube to show the students the animals we are learning about. I will then send a follow-up email to parents that have the videos links for students that wish to finish watching. Please review them as some videos show animals fighting or killing each other which might be upsetting to some students, you can share them with the student if you feel they are appropriate. https://youtu.be/87E8bQrX4Wg https://youtu.be/s7DoHiDGTsY https://youtu.be/EOmdfwzIiHA https://youtu.be/YSGdowqESaQ https://youtu.be/DmLpgzkLPek https://youtu.be/xz5eYLMmeio https://youtu.be/Y0tsVLCSrAE https://youtu.be/cHquVn5Vmw8 I’ve added this to help explain how birds are dino for students that were curious or confused by it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syAwnjoLNV8

Hello everyone! I am so happy to be teaching at Outschool. My first goal is to create an engaging and fun environment that will help foster a genuine love for learning. My passion is to help students discover what they want to learn about whether or not it is academic.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences and have been working with school-age children for over nine years. I started working as a Youth Advocate where I taught students’ academic, social, and communication skills. This is where I fell in love with teaching kids by accident and realized how life-altering a true interest in learning anything can be. Since then I’ve worked with an after-school program in which I got the joy of instructing large groups of students in creating various arts, crafts, and science projects. Last, I spent five years teaching as a Paraeducator with higher needs students for a local elementary school before going freelance this year as an ESL teacher. My years in the classroom have made me comfortable teaching academic (math, reading, writing), behavioral, and social skills.

Outside of the classroom, I spend my time doing art, writing, hanging out with my family, and playing with my crazy ferrets. My parent also developed a curiosity about the natural world throughout my childhood I spent many days at museums, camping, and outdoors in my youth. That is why I often spend a considerable amount of my free time reading about animals, dinosaurs, and other prehistorical creatures. As a lifelong learner, I spend far too much learning about various topics in many fields including psychology, sociology, and other fields related to social sciences. I hope one day to get my Master’s in Social Sciences and teach at a college.
