Students will have personalized help and practice in class to help them get Pre-Algebra to make sense. Students will interact with each other as well as the teacher over the classroom messages as well as on the video classes 4 days a week. We will use Khan academy as the curriculum and for homework. This will enable me to focus on teaching and helping where students have trouble spots instead of sending out and grading each students homework(since homework is graded automatically on Khan). This also enables me to keep the cost of the class low as I don't have to spend extra time outside of class doing that. Each student will get a personalized plan and will be doing their plan weekly. So the topics covered each week will vary depending on what students are asking for help with. I will have two devices signed in, one in the main room and another in a breakout room where I can do 1on1 tutoring style help when students have trouble with things. This class is meant for students who do not enjoy math, I originally planned this class to take place twice a week so it would be less expensive but found that students that were in this situation didn't do well with a lot of homework(which that type of class plan required). In light of this I have made this class 4 days a week and it will have less homework(20 minutes a day). Class time will be structured as follows: 5 minutes - review 20 minutes - students ask me questions and do math work 5 minutes - talk about homework Topics Covered in a general student plan (dates will depend on when your student joins): Week 1: Fundamentals Review - Arithmetic, fractions, decimals, variables, exponents, and order of operations Week 2: Multiples/Factors Week 3: Patterns Week 3: Ratios and Rates Week 4: Percentages Week 5: Exponents and PEMDAS Week 6: Variables Week 7: Equations and inequalities Week 8: Percent and word problems Week 9: Proportions Week 10: 2-step equations and inequalities Week 11: Roots and scientific notation Week 12: Multi-step equations Week 13: Two-variable equations Week 14: Functions and Linear Models Week 15: Systems of Equations

Lista de útiles escolares
1. Students will need to have an account and be able to access Khan Academy. This cannot be their school account if they already have one as that account is only able to be used with teachers from their school. It's free to make an account on Khan. 2. A notebook to take and access notes.
