Ciencia de la Tierra en Pokémon: meteorización de rocas y erupciones volcánicas

In this course students will learn about the weathering of rocks and cores of the earth to apply cause and effect concepts as they apply to the environment.
Topics to cover:
Day 1: Weathering of Rocks
Day 2: Volcanoes Eruptions 
How is your class structured? This is an advance class and expectations must be adhered to:
No talking when Teacher is talking 
 Submission of text on chat 
Have access to notebook paper and writing utensil. 
How will I teach: 
Presentation with either PDF, PowerPoint or Chalkboard. (15 Minutes) 
Instructor-led discussion: Observe, Analyze, and discuss illustrations of Weathering and Volcanic Eruptions (10 Minutes)
Student Independent Work: Draw a illustration of Rocks undergoing Weathering and Earth 4 layers that led to a Volcanic Eruption (15 Minutes) 
Question & Answers (5minutes)


Teaching Style: 
 Use of presentation, pdf files, polls for interaction. I prefer both instructor and student led discussions after instructional time,
How will I teach?
I will teach with the 5-e model to:
Engage with presentation through discussion on group chat and call on. (Day 1 & 2)
Explore a science project using hot water & cranberries with a video clip. (Day 2) 
Discuss how Weathering erodes rocks from illustrations.
Evaluate cause & effect with factual evidence. 
Extend our knowledge of these animals to Pokémon with a ‘question & answer’ game.

Expect: Lecture, slides, discussion, video clips, and games.

Prior Knowledge: Earth, and basic Geology.
