Jugando con Procreate: Cómo crear un patrón repetitivo

Welcome, artists! In this class, I will guide students through the process of creating a repeating pattern using the Procreate app. These are patterns that only take up a small amount of design space, such as one square, but you can place the square next to itself over and over again and your pattern will repeat. It's a great way to create things like backgrounds for your phone/computer or custom fabrics. The Procreate app is a great tool for this, because it's super user-friendly so it's easy to get the hang of the features. 

The lesson will be partially lecture-based, but will also have guided drawing. After introductions, I'll go through the steps to create a pattern on my own, so students have a chance to observe the process. After that, we'll start from the top, this time having the students follow along through the steps to create a pattern of their own. Students are encouraged to ask any questions they have as we go through the drawing process and share tips/tricks with their classmates if they know any. At the end of class, students will have the opportunity to share their patterns if they'd like to.

This class will allow students to:
-Flex their creativity by designing their own drawing
-Strengthen their listening and observation skills as they pay attention to the instructions given
-Gain a better understanding of how to navigate the Procreate app
-Learn skills that can be applied to other projects as well

Parents please note: A device with the Procreate app installed is needed for this class. It's also recommended to have an Apple pencil or similar tool to make it easier to draw.

Additional note: While I will guide students through using the app and I am happy to answer any questions along the way, the focus of this class is to create the repeating pattern as opposed to explaining the functions of the app. Therefore, students should have an understanding of the app's basic features.
