Piano: conceptos básicos para principiantes y adolescentes

Students will learn how to find and name all of the notes on the piano.  They will be able to play basic scales and chords and at least 1 piece of music.  We will meet online using a piano (digital or acoustic) to learn to play.

Class 1: Learning the names of the notes, navigating the piano using the black keys as a pattern.  Students will be able to label all of the white notes from A to G.  We will also do some finger exercises so that students will know remember finger numbers.

Class 2:  We will review note names and finger numbers and we will learn to play a 5 finger scale in C position. 

Class 3:  We will review note names, finger numbers, C position 5 finger scale and we will learn C chord.  We will also begin to learn basic melodies in C position.  

Class 4:  We will start with a review and warm-up, then practice and build our repertoire.  We will play melodies in both hands.

Class 5:  We will review C scale, Chord, and melodies in C position.  We will learn G position, 5 finger scale in G, G chord.s  

Class 6:   We will  review all concepts and skills from previous weeks, and new repertoire

Class 7:   We will  review all concepts and skills from previous weeks, and new repertoire

Class 8:   We will  review all concepts and skills from previous weeks, and new repertoire
