Tareas
2-4 horas por semana. Assignment: Exploring Motion and Force Objective: In this assignment, you will apply your understanding of Newton's Laws of Motion to real-life situations. You will identify how these laws manifest in everyday actions and reflect on your experiences with motion and force.
Evaluación
Grading Criteria: Understanding of Concepts (40%): How well you explain and apply the three laws of motion. Clarity and Detail (30%): How clearly you describe your experiences and examples, and how effectively you relate them to the concepts. Creativity and Application (30%): How creatively and accurately you apply the laws of motion to real-life scenarios.

Experiencia de clase

Nivel de inglés - A1

Nivel Beginner - Intermediate
In this course, students will explore the fundamental principles of motion and force through an engaging lesson that includes both theoretical concepts and real-world applications. The lesson will cover the basics of Newton's Laws of Motion and how they explain the movement of objects. Students will engage in discussions, reflect on personal experiences, and complete exercises to apply what they’ve learned.

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

Define and explain key concepts such as distance, displacement, and force.
Understand and apply Newton's First, Second, and Third Laws of Motion.
Relate these concepts to real-life situations, such as driving a car, playing a sport, or using everyday objects.

Class Experience:
This class is designed to be interactive, combining lecture-based teaching with hands-on activities and real-life examples. Students will participate in:

Lectures:
The lesson will start with a brief lecture introducing each of Newton's Laws and the core concepts of motion and force.

Interactive Activities:
Students will be encouraged to engage with the material through quizzes and simple activities that reinforce key concepts.

Metas de aprendizaje

Teacher Expertise for Physics 101 – Introduction to Motion and Force
I bring a wealth of experience and education to teaching science, particularly in the areas of physics, energy, and environmental systems. My academic background and teaching experience uniquely equip me to help students understand the foundational principles of motion and force.

Educational Background:

I am currently ABD (All But Dissertation) in Earth Systems Science for my Ph.D., where I have developed a deep understanding of the physical world, including key topics like motion, forces, and energy dynamics in environmental systems.

I hold a Master of Science (M.S.) in Energy and Environmental Management, which has given me a solid grounding in the physical sciences, energy systems, and the environmental implications of force and motion.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Literature, which provides me with a strong foundation in communication and critical thinking skills, allowing me to present complex scientific concepts in an accessible and engaging way.

Teaching Experience:

I have six years of experience teaching middle school science, where I introduced students to core scientific principles, including topics like motion, energy, and basic physics. This experience has made me adept at creating interactive lessons that engage students and help them understand these concepts in an enjoyable and relatable manner.

I have taught Environmental Science at the university level, where I integrated various physical science concepts, such as energy transfer and the forces at work in environmental systems, into my curriculum.

Additionally, I have experience teaching Sustainability at the university level, where I incorporated foundational scientific principles to help students understand the environmental impact of human activities and the role of physics in shaping sustainability practices.

Work with Children and Teens:

I have extensive experience working with students aged 12-18, having spent several years teaching in middle school and university settings. I understand the developmental needs of this age group and know how to make complex scientific concepts engaging and accessible.
In my work with students, I emphasize active learning and hands-on activities, ensuring that learners can apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations. I also encourage reflective discussions to deepen their understanding and make science feel more connected to their everyday lives.
Teaching Philosophy and Approach:

I employ an interactive teaching style that prioritizes student engagement through discussions, experiments, and problem-solving exercises. I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas.
I believe in making science exciting and relevant, and I use real-world examples and applications to show students how the principles of physics apply to their everyday experiences.

With my unique blend of academic expertise, extensive teaching experience, and passion for fostering a positive learning environment, I am well-prepared to guide students through the fascinating world of physics and motion. I aim to help students not only understand these concepts but also appreciate their practical importance in the world around them.
