In this class, we will explore the creative tools in iPhones and iPads in regards to photography. We will familiarize ourselves with the functions of the camera to be able to create personified photos as well as look into creating photography collections in regards to color and unique perspective. Students do not need any prior experience to engage with this class but must have an iPad or iPhone. Instruction will be provided through my iPad as a reference point. In order to fully participate, students will leave their screens to take various photos around the house or outside.

In this section, students will be using either an iPad or iPhone to take photographs of everyday objects. We will not venture onto Safari or any other search engine. Our time will be spent using cameras, photos, Keynote, and Pages inherent in Apple Products. For this session, we will also avoid taking images of individuals but will focus on inanimate objects.

I have been an elementary school teacher for the past fourteen years. I hold bachelor's degrees in French and History from the University of New Mexico and a master's degree in Elementary Education from the College of Santa Fe. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher, 2016 TouchCast Ambassador, 2016 Apple Teacher, 2017 TouchCast Star Ambassador, 2017 Nearpod Pionear, 2017 Nearpod Certified Educator, a National Geographic Certified Educator, a two-time TEDxABQ Education Speaker, a 2017 Apple Distinguished Educator, a PBS Digital Innovator, the Henry Ford Innovative Teacher, and the ISTE Making IT Happen award recipient. Most recently, I was named a 2021 Colorado Teacher of the Year Finalist.
I truly believe that creativity is one of the most valuable habits to practice. I love making the most ludicrous ideas into tangible learning experiences.
