In this class we will be going on a fun journey through phonological awareness to practice the listening and speaking skills necessary to begin the path to reading. We will be playing interactive and fun games to work on and develop these skills. Kids will be interacting and talking with me, following along doing gestures and movements, singing songs, and listening to a story. Areas we will focus on: -Word awareness in sentences (Listening and identifying how many words are in the sentence) -Syllables (counting syllables in a word) -Rhyming (listening to and identifying rhymes)
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will begin to develop phonological awareness skills to become familiar with hearing and manipulating words, and bigger sound patterns. This will prepare them for phonemic awareness which will be the ability to manipulate smaller units of sound (letter sounds).

Students will be interacting with small movements and possible dancing when singing the song. Students should have a small space clear of any objects to do minor movements and not get injured.
