¡La fonética manda!

In this semester course, students will learn a new phonics rule each week. The first week we will focus on CVC words. The second week we will focus on CVCe words. The third week we will focus on r controlled vowels.  The fourth week soft c and hard c. The fifth week will focus on soft g and hard g. The sixth week will focus on ending with k or ck. The seventh week will focus on the -ing ending. The last week will focus on plurals. For certain patterns, we may extend the first lesson over two days. Students will need a sheet of blank paper, pencil, and any sort of coloring instrument for Wednesdays and Thursdays. 

During the first meeting, I will introduce the rule or pattern. We will brainstorm together words that match the rule or pattern. We will practice using these words in sentences. During the third meeting, we will have an assignment to be completed. During the last meeting, we will review the assignment and go over any mistakes made.During the last meeting of the week, we will go over the mistakes made. The entire class will follow this pattern. We start with the rule, brainstorm, complete an assignment, and review.  Please be sure to check the classroom for announcements and changes to the schedule.
