What will be taught? This personalized tutoring program delves deeply into phonics, concentrating on seamlessly transitioning from single to multisyllabic words. Utilizing the Orton-Gillingham method, students will master strategies to decode and encode complex words, fostering confidence and fluency in reading. With a Master's in Reading Education from NCSU and extensive training in literacy education for struggling learners, I bring a wealth of expertise to this class. As a certified K-12 Reading and Special Education teacher, I have honed my skills through years of experience, including coaching other educators in best literacy practices. Rest assured, your child will receive top-notch instruction tailored to their unique needs and learning style.
This class uses research based strategies that support all learning needs (including ADHD, Dyslexiea, ASD). Phonics instruction is systematic, sequential, multi-sensory, explicit, individualized and reinforced.
Students will either need a peice of paper and writing utensil or a dry erase board with dry erase marker.
