In this class we will use your child's knowledge of letters and their sounds to help us read and write! We will primarily focus on reading and spelling long vowel words with Vowel Teams (Vowel Digraphs, CVVC/CVV) in this class through fun and engaging activities such as phonics bingo, picture/word sorts, reading decodable texts, and other literacy activities and games! Vowel Teams that will be reviewed in this class may include: ai, ay, au, aw, ee, ea, ey, oa, oi, oy, ow, ou. Your child should have some exposure to reading words such as: train, shout, day, jeep, etc. 

Sample Class Structure:
1. Letter-Sound Recognition warmup 
2. Reading Words warm up - we will practice how to segment (sound out) and blend sounds in short vowel, magic e words, and vowel teams. Ex: f-l-oa-t ->float
3. Game time!

This class is great for students who need to review their phonics skills including students with dyslexia.
