Unlock the power of self-awareness in this engaging and fully remote class designed for teens! Through the lenses of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Enneagram, you’ll dive into the fascinating world of personality types and uncover what makes you—and others—tick. This interactive course will help you: Understand the 16 MBTI personality types and their unique characteristics. Explore the 9 Enneagram types and their core motivations. The Purpose of Using Personality Tests lies in their use as a starting point for Self-Reflection and Awareness We will emphasize that tests provide a starting point for understanding one's preferences, tendencies, and ways of interacting with the world. They are not definitive labels. We will strive for the following: Build Empathy and Collaboration- the results to help students understand and appreciate differences in how people think, feel, and act, which can improve group work and relationships. Exploring Personal Strengths and Growth: Encourage students to see the results as a way to recognize strengths and areas where they can grow, not as limitations or fixed Emphasize Flexibility: Clearly state that personality is complex and dynamic, influenced by experiences, culture, and growth. Highlight that no test can fully capture a person’s identity or predict their future. De-emphasize Absolutes: Explain that results reflect tendencies or preferences, not certainties. We will Avoid language like “you are this type” and instead use “this suggests you might have a preference for…” Use for Reflection, Not Decisions: Discuss the results as tools for thinking about how students interact with others, approach tasks, or manage challenges, and how it influences your communication, relationships, and decision-making. Build empathy by learning how to appreciate the differences in others. Develop practical tools for personal growth and navigating social situations. Each week, you’ll participate in lively discussions, fun activities, and reflection exercises that will deepen your understanding of yourself and your peers. By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with a clearer sense of who you are and strategies to thrive in school, friendships, and beyond.

Personality tests in the classroom are tools for self-reflection and building understanding, not definitive labels. They help students explore their strengths, preferences, and ways of working with others, but they don’t define who they are, predict behavior, or determine careers. Results are presented as starting points for discussion, emphasizing growth, flexibility, and empathy. Students are encouraged to reflect, disagree, and see personality as just one aspect of their identity.
