Class Experience
In Pens, Plots & Plays with Smartella (3PS), young writers and storytellers from Grades 3–6 will step into a world of imagination, drama, and creativity! This class blends creative writing, storytelling, and roleplay in a unique and exciting way to help learners build confidence, communication skills, and storytelling techniques.

Each week, we’ll explore a new theme or story genre—from magical lands and mystery missions to historical adventures and futuristic quests. Learners will brainstorm, write, share, and act out scenes, building a strong foundation in narrative structure, character development, dialogue, and descriptive writing.

What Will Be Taught?
- Creative writing fundamentals: story structure (beginning, middle, end), plot twists, setting, character building, and dialogue.
- Public speaking and performance through fun roleplay activities.
- Storytelling techniques: pacing, tone, voice, and audience engagement.
- Teamwork and active listening as learners collaborate and give feedback.

Topics We’ll Cover
- Genre exploration: fantasy, adventure, mystery, fairy tales, sci-fi, and more.
- Storyboarding and outlining.
- How to write strong openings and satisfying endings.
- Using sensory language and vivid imagery.
- Improvisation and character roleplay games.

Class Structure
Each class follows a fun and consistent format:

- Warm-up Activity/Game – Icebreakers or improv games to get creative juices flowing.
- Mini-Lesson – Short, focused instruction using slides or visuals (e.g., how to build suspense, create dialogue, etc.).
- Creative Time – Learners write or brainstorm based on prompts.
- Roleplay & Sharing – Learners act out or read parts of their stories, receive light feedback, and celebrate each other’s creativity.
- Wrap-Up & Take-Home Prompt – A creative writing prompt is shared for learners to work on independently if they wish.

Teaching Style & Interaction
I use an interactive, learner-centered approach where every child is encouraged to participate at their own comfort level. My classes are high-energy, fun, and safe spaces where creativity thrives.

Expect a mix of visuals, discussion, games, guided writing, and active storytelling. Learners will get plenty of chances to speak, act, write, and collaborate.

No prior writing experience is needed—just a willingness to imagine and express!
