In this ongoing 55-minute course we will be learning about a new dinosaur, prehistoric animal, or paleontological concept each class. Each week we will discuss where and when these animals lived, where their fossils were found, how they were fossilized, their diet, size, and the habitat in which they lived. Additionally we may discuss broader topics such as fossil preservation, paleoecology, conference presentations, and emerging techniques in the field of paleontology. Initially these will be chosen by myself, but after the first class, the prehistoric animals will be suggested and chosen by the learners with new topics being chosen each week. Potential topics will be suggested and discussed at the end of each class.

The class will typically follow a format of:
1. Introduction of the topic.
2. Teach class about one or more of the prehistoric animals chosen.
3. Discuss with the class what we learned, anything they found particularly interesting, and any questions they had.
4. Chose the topic of the next weeks class.

The topics for this class will be as follows:
Week of Aug. 15th: The Evolution of Whales
Week of Aug. 29th: Trilobites (or prehistoric animal chosen by students)
Week of Sept. 5th: Megalosaurus (or prehistoric animal chosen by students)
Week of Sept. 12th: Ammonites (or prehistoric animal chosen by students)
Week of Sept 19th: Parasaurolophus (or prehistoric animal chosen by students)
Future sections of this class will be on new topics chosen by students rather than cycling back to previous topics.

This class is designed to be a private, 1 on 1 version of my Paleontology Club class where we can go much more into depth on each topic and tackle more challenging and engaging questions about the history of life on our planet. No prior experience is required, but I recommend taking some of my other courses first.
