This class is for younger artists who want to practice painting with acrylics together! We'll have brand new subjects every week, and step-by-step instruction. I've taught art classes for over fifteen years, from little kids to high school seniors! Everything from drawing to sculpture to painting. I think the best way to teach good technique is to show kids what to do (but leave plenty of room for them to be creative). I'm here to chew bubblegum, have fun and make art; and I'm all out of bubblegum... ;)
You will need these supplies for each class! They are available from craft supply stores such as Michaels, Target, WalMart, or online suppliers such as Amazon or Blick. 1. Painting surface -- Canvas, thick paper, or canvas paper; size 9x12" or similar 2. ACRYLIC* paints (at least red, yellow, blue, green, black, white, and brown; additional colors such as orange and purple encouraged!) 3. Paint palette or paper plate for mixing 4. Paint brushes (1/2"/large flat brush, a medium and a small brush of any shape are recommended; additional brushes are great!) 5. Water cup, paper towels ****Please have all materials set out & ready to go BEFORE class begins! * Can I substitute a different kind of paint? Craft paint-- yes! Watercolor paints-- no!
