'Tis the season for crafting something festive! In this one-time class, learners will follow me step-by-step and learn how to paint a watercolor Christmas card. 🎨 We'll start class with a warm welcome and learners will have to opportunity to share their favorite part of this season. There is no pressure to share if they don’t want to though! 🎨 To begin our painting, we'll learn how to create the fir tree branch. We'll discuss how using more than one shade can help our paintings look more life-like. 🎨 Next, we'll be painting the ornament. We'll discuss light and how to add some shading to our ornaments. 🎨 Finally, we will decorate the inside of our cards. This is where learners are give free rein to be creative! I always encourage creativity and I love seeing what each artist comes up with! 🎨 I will give instructions on how to assemble the cards once the painted components are fully dry and learners will complete this after class is over. We use simple techniques in this class and go step-by-step, making this class beginner-friendly! I am a patient and positive teacher and I truly believe that everyone can create art! I love seeing learners build their confidence and have fun creating something they're proud of. Also, as a former shy kid myself, I am very understanding of learners who take some time to warm up and there is no pressure in my classes to talk if that isn't comfortable yet. All are welcome here!

Learners may need help gathering supplies before class. The watercolor paper will need to be cut into 4 before class as well. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors or a paper cutter.

-1 sheet of 7"x10" watercolor paper, cut into 4 equal pieces (making four 3.5"x5" pieces) -1 sheet of 8.5"x11" colored card stock, cut in half (making two 5.5"x8.5" pieces) -Watercolor paints -Paintbrush -Rag or paper towel -2 cups of water -3 oz paper cup (we'll be using this to trace a circle for the ornament) -Pencil -White crayon -Glue stick

I love working with kids and have done so as a daycare teacher, nanny, school volunteer, and as a mom to my own three kids. I have a BA in linguistics from the University of Florida and I've been doing arts and crafts for as long as I can remember (I even ran my own Etsy shop for awhile!).
