In this ongoing outer space science club, students will learn about a different part of our solar system each week. We will learn facts, look at pictures, and complete a hands on experiment or project. Some of our experiments will be completed start to finish during class, others may need some time throughout the week to complete. This class will be very interactive. The students will participate in both structured learning and some socializing as well. At the beginning of each class, students will have an opportunity to share any space facts about that days topic! Materials needed for each class will be items easily found either at a grocery store or from amazon. A materials list will be provided at least one week in advance. Weekly themes are subject to change as we will be following suggestions and interests from the students in the class, at least one week's notice will be given for any changes! Week of February 16th - February 22nd: The Sun - Paper plate - Red, orange, and yellow paint - Paint brush - Small ball of playdough or clay - One unsharpened pencil Week of February 23rd - March 1st: Mercury - Kinetic Sand or Playdough - Small balls or rocks or crumpled pieces of tin foil Week of March 2nd - March 8th: Venus - Piece of cardboard - White and Yellow Paint - Baking soda - Two paint brushes - Vinegar in spray bottle Week of March 9th - March 15th: Earth -Styrofoam ball - Blue and Green paint - Black Marker - Flashlight - Pencil - Paintbrushes Week of March 16th - March 22nd: Mars - Chocolate, Crackers, and Chips crushed into small pieces and mixed together on a plate (Keep these ingredients secret from your learner! We will be using our senses to study this “martian soil” like a scientist!) Week of March 23rd - March 29th: Jupiter -Paper plate - Strips of white, red, orange, brown, and yellow paper - Glue Week of March 30th - April 5th: Saturn -PDF - Markers -Liquid glue -Small cup of sand or dirt -White or silver glitter Week of April 6th - April 12th: Uranus - A jar with lid - About 1/3 cup hot water - Ice - Hairspray Week of April 13th - April 19th: Neptune -PDF -Glue -Scissors Week of April 20th - April 26th: Pluto, Ceres, Eris, Haumea, Makemake, and Sedna - Playdough in several colors Week of April 27th - May 3rd: The Moon -PDF -Oreo cookies Week of May 4th - May 10th: Asteroids - Sheet of Black Paper - Chalk in Various Colors - Glue - Small pieces of tin foil or tiny rocks Week of May 11th - May 17th: Exoplanet Planet X & Oort Cloud - PDF -Small items Week of May 18th - May 24th: Astronaut -paper plate with small rectangle cut out of center (for their eyes to look through) -markers and stickers Week of May 25th - May 31st: Space Shuttle - A sheet of paper - Tape or glue - Scissors - Toilet paper roll - Markers - Small toy such as a lego person Week of June 1st - June 7th: Space Station -PDF -Markers or Crayons *This schedule is subject to change*

Hello to Everyone! My name is Miss Meghan and I can’t wait to meet your child. I enjoy teaching a variety of classes for preschool and early elementary ages.
I hold a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. At the beginning of my career, I worked extensively with children with autism in home settings designing programs to help students access the world around them in an empowering way. After my oldest daughter was born, I became a licensed childcare provider creating a home away from home for many children to grow and learn. When my youngest daughter was born, I decided it was time to explore other options and that is how I landed at Outschool. I am so grateful for this opportunity and love meeting new learners from all over the world.
I have a passion for instilling a love of learning in young children through exposure, messy play, and fun! I strongly believe that letting children delve into learning at their own level and allowing for different types of learning styles sets children up for a life long learning journey.
In addition to teaching on Outschool, I also homeschool my two daughters who are my pride and joy. I feel so grateful to have a career that I love that also affords me the opportunity to spend time with my own children as well. In my free time, I enjoy art, brainstorming new lesson ideas, cross stitch, and reading!
