No one enjoys feeling disorganized or behind or overwhelmed, and we don’t have to. Neurodivergence can actually be a super power if we focus on making life skills (like deadlines, motivators, and note-taking) an enjoyable task; we can inspire their natural curiosity and creativity to HELP them feel successful. This class will cover the basics of sketchnoting and how it specifically targets the ADHD brain, how to pinpoint what each child’s unique motivators are, how to track and keep up with deadlines, how to organize to fit each kid’s specific needs, and some overall fundamentals of learning styles. No class builds off of previous knowledge, so kids can pop in and out of classes as they develop their skills and goals.

Join in at any time! Classes are dynamic and engaging in that no more than 15 minutes at a time are devoted to "lecture." The rest of the class is see-do-share model where students are given challenges and discussion items that help them recognize their unique strengths and create goals to address academic frustrations.

Teaching style is geared open to all learners. In the course students are allowed to interact in discussions via chat as opposed to turning microphones if preferred. Teacher recognizes the need for movement and fidget during class and activities do not exceed 15 minutes at a time--to allow variety and cognitive stimulation.

Students will be interacting with both instructor and classmates. As the class is ongoing and will need to respond to students' interests the structure part of class discussion will also need to vary and will not build off each other form week to week. Discussion will be both student to teacher and student to student (monitored). Students will share out ideas, writing, and sketch-notes during discussion.
