Escritura creativa continua: el proceso de escritura

#academic The more we write, the better we write and possibly the more we enjoy writing. In this class we will first learn about different types of writing and important writing skills using a powerpoint presentation. Then the students will be given a prompt so that they can practice their writing. I will guide them through the process of writing good paragraphs using a hook to pull the reader into the story. We will also focus on revising and editing as important parts of the writing process. All students will be at different levels of the writing experience. I believe that we should take the child's abilities right where they are and make steps of improvement in a caring and accepting way. More than anything I want to foster the child's confidence and joy in writing. Student will brainstorm together as we develop topic sentences and supporting sentences on the screen. Students should be able to write in sentences. I have 16 lessons in a semester. But many students easily retake the semester again or attend the same class again because there are always many prompt options for writing. 

After lesson 16 this class starts over again at lesson 1. Students are encouraged to repeat and write on different topics.

Week 7        Descriptive Writing: "Last week I had an amazing time at...l. "
Week 8        Expository Writing: "I'll never forget the first time I saw a snake."
Week 9        Narrative Writing: "The first spaceship landed on Planet X and the astronauts couldn't believe what they saw!."
Week 10      Descriptive Writing: " A day I will never forget."
Week 11       Descriptive Writing: " A walk in the woods"
Week 12      Persuasive Writing: How to plan with an Oreo cookie.  
Week 13      Persuasive Writing: many options
Week 14      Comparing Expository and Narratives: importance of concluding sentences
Week 15       Editing fragments, run ons and other skills
Week 16      Expository and Narratives: plans, paragraphs and review
