Welcome to my classroom! I am an experienced Reading Specialist with over seven years of expertise in assessing students' reading, spelling, and phonics abilities. Are you eager to discover your child's reading and phonemic awareness skills? If so, you've come to the right place.

In this special class, we will evaluate students' fluency, phonemic awareness, and reading skills using two assessments: the Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) and the Orton Gillingham method. The DRA will help us assess reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension for all students. The Orton Gillingham assessments, on the other hand, will focus on evaluating phonemic awareness skills.

For our young learners who have not yet received formal reading instruction, typically kindergartners, I will conduct individual assessments to gauge their phonological awareness, visual and sound recognition of the alphabet, and naming skills. For students who have already received reading instruction, the assessments will be tailored to their educational background.
